日本地球化学会年会&若手シンポジウム2011@北海道


D2の山口保彦です。
北海道で開催された日本地球化学会年会日本地球化学若手シンポジウム2011に参加・発表してきました! 横山研からは山口のみの参加。来年の年会は九州大学で開催なので、皆で行きましょう。

北海道は、4年生の時に卒論の分析作業を北大に習いに行って以来、約4年ぶりでした。
年会では「現世および過去の有機物、微生物、生態系の地球化学」のセッションで、口頭発表したほか、初めて座長も経験させてもらいました。どちらも無事に終了。

北海道といえばもちろん、ジンギスカンや石狩鍋もしっかり堪能してきました。
特に、川幡研の人たちと行ったジンギスカン。感動しました。



若手シンポジウム1-2日目の会場
森の中にありました
若手シンポジウムは、M1の時から4回目の参加。夜遅くまで酒を片手にあーだこーだ議論したり、合宿ならではの楽しさがやはりあります。
次週からのIMOG2011@スイスに参加するため、2日目夕方に早退したのですが、聞くところによると2日目夜から3日目はさらに充実した内容だったそうで。。。 来年はきちんとフル参戦したいです。

→海洋酸性化に対する各生物の応答は異なるが、サンゴと軟体動物の飼育実験を通して、有機物の膜の有る無しが酸性化に対する耐性に大きく関わっていることが分かった。有機物の膜がある部分の骨格は酸性化による溶解を免れることができるが、無い部分の骨格は不飽和の海水にさらされると無機的な溶解が進行してしまうらしい。
